Kristīne Markus. Snails parade

In the beginning of May, in Riga city there were placed 15 colourful snails with the idea to gain public attention to contemporary art and the necessity of Latvian Contemporary Art museum. This project was organized by public initiative Art Needs Space. To support the idea of establishing a museum there were invited to join the project 15 Latvian artists who painted the snails. One of them there was a painter and gallery Daugava curator Kristīne Markus.
The snails in the Riga city streets will found until the White Nights 6-7th September, but after 8th of September all snails will be moved to various locations in Latvia still remainding about necessity of the Contemporary Art Museum.
