Exhibition extened until the end of December!

KASPARS ZARIŅŠ (1962) on his forthcoming exhibition:

For my exhibition I have chosen a story about our ability to read messages from nature, which are usually in accordance with the state of one’s soul and one’s perceptiveness.

When one observes nature or immerses oneself in it one can perceive a ”live broadcast” and feel its touch. Everyone who has walked along a seashore has wondered what may be hidden in the various shells found there. And what values can we learn from them? In Latvia too a great variety may be found. Already in childhood we pressed them to our ear to hear the voice of nature as well as our own.

Colour as an intrinsic part of nature is another facet of my exhibition. As well as being a component of our thoughts it is also an integral part of the world. On the one hand, I am recording a moment, but on the other, it gets transformed into a live broadcast of colors and becomes a live source of information. I am interested in what gets born inside the paintings I have created.

An artwork is a live broadcast of intellectual information. A multi-layer painting is like a novel with many chapters. Its message reveals itself when we delve into the picture and digest it with our eyes and heart. For my artworks I have chosen a principle of pairs in order to show that one entity can differ inwardly and outwardly. Receiving one and the same information each of us interprets it differently. A live broadcast is of a great value since no amendments are possible. In other words, you are what you are.
