The Gallery Daugava was honored by the visit of the President of Latvia Valdis Zatlers and his wife Mrs. Lilita Zatlere on January 14 to view the Landscape. XXI Century exhibition featuring paintings by the artist Aleksejs Naumovs who is also the rector of the Latvian Art Academy.The President and his wife were welcomed by the painter Aleksejs Naumovs, his wife the artist Anita Paegle and Anda Treija, the director of the gallery. A meeting ensued where the artist discussed his works particularly the ones created in Venice during the Christmas season and what he considers most essential in painting. Depicted in the paintings were many places that the President and his wife recognized as having visited. The meeting at the exhibition seemed to have been pleasant and interesting to everyone present. |
